Carol cares about D64! Carol Sales is running for D64 school board. She’s a D64 parent who grew up in Park Ridge, IL. She and her husband have two children. Carol is interested in hearing from (and representing the interests of) all D64 residents. She frequently attends school board meetings and volunteers for the PTO by assisting with events and serving as a room parent. Carol believes we can do so much more: her goals are to increase the efficiency of school board meetings, improve communications, and implement succession planning (finding, promoting, and keeping the best talent). She also understands the importance of teamwork and spending money wisely.
Carol has been practicing as an attorney for 13 years. She handles commercial litigation and bankruptcy matters for consumers and businesses. She volunteered at the Cook County Elder Justice Center, which provides legal and social services for residents over 60. She’s a member of the Chicago Bar Association’s Judicial Evaluation Committee, an attorney board member of the Illinois Judges Foundation, membership co-chair of IWIRC-Chicago Network, and active in numerous other organizations.
Carol's interest in Park Ridge is rooted in her family and her memories. She has lived in Park Ridge for 30 years. Carol began her education at the Park Ridge Park District preschool and then attended Mary, Seat of Wisdom School from kindergarten through 8th grade. She then attended Resurrection High School, during which time she was a member of the tennis team and worked as a hostess at the Original Pancake House in Park Ridge. She completed the Honors Program at Marquette University and attended the John Marshall Law School, where she received a Distinguished Scholar Award and was a lead articles editor of the Law Review. Carol’s husband is also an attorney who works at a firm in Park Ridge, and her parents still live in Park Ridge. She is happy to raise her kids in her hometown.
